TravelPulse in Las Vegas : what we learned at TRAVELSAVERS Travel Market 2022

During the 3 days of Travel Market 2022, TRAVELSAVERS and their partners have not only inspired the 850 North American travel industry professionals that were present, but also took the opportunity to celebrate a milestone and make big announcements. TravelPulse was there.

50 + 2 years for TRAVELSAVERS

TRAVELSAVERS was supposed to celebrate its 50th anniversary in 2020 and has come back strong with major celebrations during the 2022 edition of their Travel Market. After looking back on what affected the travel industry over the past five decades, it is with a positive outlook, turned to the future, that Nicole Mazza, Chief Marketing Officer, for TRAVELSAVERS, NEST and the Affluent Traveler, announced some great new products for the industry.

“Our industry has gone through everything : from the arrival of the internet in the 90s, Y2K, Zika, Ebola, 9/11, and the last two years of course. It has exhausted many of us, but through all of these difficult times, we have found opportunities, created new relationships, new brands and businesses emerged. We are better today at what we do thanks to these difficult times.” “We are a family, everyone here is family. We have always celebrated every important step with our partners, it’s just who we are,” she adds.

“For us, service is what matters. Our goal has always been quality before quantity. We don’t want to be the biggest, we want to work with qualified people,” added Kathryn Mazza-Burney, Executive Vice President – Sales & Service. “Even after more than 50 years in the industry, we’re here to stay,” concludes Rick Mazza, Founder, President and CEO of AMG.

The arrival of cryptocurrency in the industry

TRAVELSAVERS has announced that it will now be possible for customers to pay their vacations with cryptocurrency, for affiliates of TRAVELSAVERS, NEST and The Affluent Traveler Collection via tripXpress, on the AMG booking platform.

“It’s a way for us to open up to the future and to a market that represents one trillion dollars. And guess what? Travel is a high priority on the list of those using cryptocurrency. We therefore wanted to ensure that travel agents were in a position to offer this form of payment to their clients”, specifies Nicole Mazza.

The program positions the group among the first in the travel industry to use this form of payment in the tourism industry, it will then be available for cruises and tour operators selected beginning 2023.

The growth of the Canadian and Quebec markets
“During the pandemic, people did a “reset”. They started rethinking their business model and they can now see the value we (TRAVELSAVERS) bring with our services, our products, our marketing tools, etc. This is a strong comeback and the agents see that we are there to push them further by making things better and easier for them. They have a full team that supported and engaged them,” proudly explains Jane Clementino, Senior VicePresident and General Manager, TRAVELSAVERS Canada. With the additional growth of more than a hundred agencies, the Canadian market shows that it has its place on the North American portfolio.
